MySQLDump

  • Available data type for MySQLDump as encrypted values
    • Entire encryption: VARCHAR, VARBINARY, TINYBLOB, BLOB, MEDIUMBLOB, LONGBLOB, TINYTEXT, TEXT, MEDIUMTEXT, LONGTEXT
    • Partial encryption:  VARCHAR, VARBINARY
  • Whether CHAR type be encrypted or not is depends on its character set
    • If the character set is same with latin1 as SingleByte, Dump file will be created and it can be loaded
    • If the character set is same with euckr or utf8 as MultiByte, Dump file will be created but it cannot be loaded
  • When it is saved by MySQLDump cipher text, value of ‘[cipher text length] * [character set byte unit]’ is longer than column length, Dump file cannot be decrypted
