Replication environment

  • It is necessary to have same policy the pair of public key for master server and slave server and POLICY.DAMO
  • If binlog type is Row or Mixed type, VIV is not available → Statement type only
  • When user encrypt following data types, it is necessary to encrypt with the policy which has double encryption identification set value
    • Data type: char, varchar, varbinary, tinyblob, blob, mediumblob, longblob, tinytext, text, mediumtext, longtext
    • Except for Int type (tinyint, smallint, mediumint, int, bigint) and Date type (date, time, datetime, timestamp, year)
  • Replication environment > Encryption for partition key column is not available on partition table (available at single mode) → The columns except for partition key column can be encrypted in replication environment
    • The slave data would be damaged when encrypting
  • Recovery for binlog is only supported with Statement type. Mixed type and Row type are not available

※ ROW type is not available temporarily at v3.0.9.0 (Statement type and Mixed type only). → ROW type will be available. Thus, if using Row type and Mixed type, the binlog will be provided as plain text.

  • Avoiding double encryption at CLI – PASS setting is needed
  • Data type available for replication with encryption
    • Int type (tinyint, smallint, mediumint, int, bigint) and Date type (date, time, datetime, timestamp, year) are the method which is being encrypted from plain text in Slave not in Master.
